An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed Movie 8 1/4" x 11" [21 x 28 cm] Key Book Still (Learn More) Paulette Goddard was an actress from the 1930s to the 1970s (she had 14 bit parts between 1929 and 1935, but she really started in movies with "Modern Times" in 1936). Some of her movies include: Modern Times, The Great Dictator, The Women, So Proudly We Hail (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), and The Cat and the Canary. She was discovered by Charlie Chaplin, whom she was married to for 6 years. Goddard passed away in 1990 at the age of 79. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Paulette Goddard! Our consignor is a longtime collector who purchased this signed item from a reputable dealer. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. Also note that this still is a key book still, printed on a deluxe heavyweight paper stock. Many studios spent extra money to have their most special photos, the key book stills, either backed with linen or printed on a heavy paper, both of which enhanced their durability. They had an extra 1" at the left or top, with punch holes, because of how they were stored. Key book stills are far more rare than regular stills, which has increased their popularity among collectors, since only a few keybooks were manufactured per film, and a key book still is guaranteed to be authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased (although we prefer they do any "authenticating" while the auction is "live" and before they place a bid) and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: very good.
