Somerset Maugham"; about a haughty Englishwoman who goes to Canada to live with relatives, but they can't stand her, and she agrees to a pretend marriage with a neighbor to escape her relatives, but naturally, after many trials and tribulations, they end up really falling in love) starring Thomas Meighan, Mona Palma, Wyndham Standing, Dale Fuller, and Charles Winninger. Note that this movie was a re-make of the 1917 "The Land of Promise", also based on the Maugham play. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline).
