An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Russian Movie Poster (measures 23 1/2" x 33" [60 x 84 cm]) (Learn More) Jago Hua Savera (released in the U.S. as "The Day Shall Dawn"), the 1959 A.J. Kardar Bangladeshian/Pakistani melodrama (about a poor family trying to come up with money to purchase a fishing boat; based on the novel by Manik Bandopadhaya) starring Tripti Mitra, Zurain Rakshi, Khan Ataur Rehman, Kazi Khaliq, and Maina Latif. Note that this film was selected as the Pakistani entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 32nd Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee (but it did win the Golden Medal at the 1st Moscow International Film Festival). It was a co-production between the two halves of what was then a geographically divided Pakistani state (which is now Pakistan and Bangladesh). The film was shot in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) by a director from West Pakistan, and scripted in the Urdu language, which is native to the West.
