Kingu Kongu tai Gojira (released in the U.S. in 1963 as "King Kong vs. Godzilla"), the 1962 Ishiro Honda Toho Japanese kaiju battling rubbery monsters science fiction (sci-fi) thriller ("The two mightiest monsters of all time! ...in the most colossal conflict the screen has ever known!"; "All New!"; "Mighty King Kong! Might Godzilla! Now an all mighty all-new motion picture brings them together for the first time in the colossal clash of all time!"; "All New!"; "See! King Kong hurl an entire train to destruction! Godzilla's radioactive flame burn out entire cities! King Kong gouge out a mountainside! Godzilla snatch jets from the skies and smash them to earth!") starring Godzilla, King Kong, Tadao Takashima, Kenji Sahara, Yu Fujiki, and Ichiro Arishima (the English version also stars Michael Keith, Harry Holcombe, James Yagi, Byron Morrow, and Les Tremayne). Note that when I saw this movie in 1963 as a young boy, I was dazzled by the incredible "special effects", but I watched it again recently with my children, and I was amazed at just how feeble the special effects were!
