An Original Vintage Folded Special Movie Poster (measures 14" x 22 1/2" [36 x 57 cm]) (Learn More) The Sky Hawk, the 1929 John Blystone World War I (WWI) aviation pilot thriller ("All talking Movietone romance of a world aflight"; adapted from the story 'Chap Called Bardell' by Llewellyn Hughes; about a British pilot who is a hero until his plane crashes under mysterious circumstances that cause him to be discharged, but he gets a chance to redeem himself when a German zeppelin attacks!) starring John Garrick (as Jack Bardell), Helen Chandler, Gilbert Emery, Lennox Pawle, and Lumsden Hare NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single movie paper item from this movie until we received this poster, and this poster is extremely unusual! It is window card sized, but it is printed on one-sheet paper stock! Maybe this was something William Fox was experimenting with at this time, and likely theater owners preferred the heavy stock window cards, so the experiment was abandoned, but that is just a guess. In any event, it is doubly rare, because it is the only movie paper from this title we have auctioned, and it is also the only such "thin paper" window card we have auctioned. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The poster has four unevenly spaced folds, with some creases on the folds, and some creases and smudges around the edges, with a small tear in the right blank border and a crease in the top left blank corner.
