McLeod cruise-ship-stowaway seafaring slapstick comedy ("The Four Marx Brothers"; about the four brothers stowing away on a transatlantic cruise ship; concepts from this movie were reused in A Night at the Opera and Room Service) starring the Marx Brothers (Groucho Marx, Harpo Marx, Chico Marx, and Zeppo Marx), Rockliffe Fellowes, Harry Woods, Thelma Todd, Ruth Hall, and Billy Barty NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that a set of lobby cards from this classic Marx Bros. movie was recently discovered, and we are auctioning those cards in eight separate auctions. They were found in this original printed brown paper bag that protected them well over the past 90+ years, and we are auctioning this bag (so if someone purchases all eight of the cards, they can "reunite" them with this bag! Note that from the 1910s through the 1950s, lobby card sets were sent in brown bags that had the names of the movie and credits printed on the outside. The purpose of the bag was to protect the lobby cards, and they served that purpose well! Since the vast majority of lobby card sets get broken up and sold by the individual card, few of these original printed brown bags survive, except in the cases where someone preserved the entire set with the bag. We don't know if there are "brown bag collectors", but it certainly seems that the printed brown bag from legendary movies would be the most desirable, and ones from lesser movies would have lesser value! And certainly, many collectors could never hope to own a lobby card from the most loved and most collected movies, but they might consider getting a lobby card bag instead! Condition: very good.
