A picture... unforgettable in its greatness!"; "Sensational in it's dramatic impact!"; "From a Story by Rowland Brown") starring James Cagney (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; as Rocky Sullivan), Pat O'Brien (as Father Jerry Connolly), The Dead End Kids (Leo Gorcey [as Bim], Billy Halop [as Soapy], Huntz Hall [as Crab], Bobby Jordan, Gabriel Dell, Bernard Punsly), Humphrey Bogart (as James Frazier), Ann Sheridan (as Laury Ferguson), George Bancroft, and Frankie Burke (as the young Rocky; he was an unknown 17 year-old newsboy when he was discovered to play the young James Cagney, because he had an uncanny resemblance to young James Cagney!)
