Morfinisten (released in the U.S. as "The Morphine Takers"), the 1911 Louis von Kohl Danish silent morphine drug addiction melodrama starring Lili Beck, Alfred Cohn, Vera Fjelstrup, Edvard Jacobsen, and Ella Jacobsen. We don't know if there were earlier drug movies than this one, but it is surely one of the earliest, and it certainly is very "hard-hitting" in its approach to its subject.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good to fine. The poster was never folded. It had some tiny bits of paper loss in the left of the top foldline and a few faint scuffs in the solid black areas. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above, but they are really not very distracting (and a talented restorer could touch them up without re-backing the poster).
