Artist: Rene Peron Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this first release French one-panel! It has completely different art of Kong from any poster from either France or any other country, and it is a wonderful depiction of Kong with one handcuff about to bat down a bi-plane about to shoot him, and since Fay Wray is not in his hand, but is on the building, we know it is from the very climax of the movie! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had some tiny areas of paper loss on parts of some folds, with small paper loss at some crossfolds. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was backed onto a thin linen, with no excess, and very little restoration was performed. After it was backed, it was roughly handled, and it acquired a small area of paper loss in the bottom center of the image, 1" above the "a" of "avec" and tiny paper loss below the "a" of "avec", slightly affecting the bottom of the "a". It also acquired creases down the right edge and rough handling caused the poster to slightly "lift" from the linen in some places. If I owned this great poster, I would surely immediately have it removed from the old linen, and after it is properly re-backed (and it will require very little paint restoration), the poster will display wonderfully. But please read the above and look at our super-sized image to have a good sense of its defects before placing a bid on this very cool and rare poster! Learn More about condition grades
