An Original 1950 (from the first release of this movie in France) Vintage Theatrical Folded French "Affiche" Movie Poster (23x32; measures 23 1/2" x 31 1/4" [60 x 79 cm]) (Learn More)

The Life of Riley, the 1949 Irving Brecher family comedy ("You haven't laughed until you've lived... The Life of Riley"; "For 5 years Radio's top family show! Now... the funniest family in films!"; "'You got no enemies, Riley... but all your friends Hate Ya!"; "Hooray! My daughter's marryin' a doctor. Now I can be sick for nothin'."; "based on the hit radio show"; later a hit TV series) starring William Bendix (in the title role "as 'Riley' The world's most successful failure!'"), James Gleason, Rosemary DeCamp, Bill Goodwin, Beulah Bondi, Meg Randall, Richard Long, and John Brown (billed as "'Digger' O'Dell [John Brown]"). Note that many people will remember the popular TV series of the same name that was made with William Bendix in the starring role, but few know that in the 1948 - 1950 version of the show, a very young Jackie Gleason played the title role of Chester C. Riley (Bendix had starred in the long-running radio show version, but his movie contract prevented him from starring in the TV show, but after Gleason's version was canceled, Bendix came free and was signed to make a new TV version, which was a major hit)!

Artist: Rene Lefebvre
Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: good to very good. The poster has darkened somewhat and it has a few pinholes around the edges. There is a small amount of red/pink writing on back at center that slightly bleeds through to the front. It is otherwise in pretty nice condition and after a simple linenbacking the poster will look great!
