D-Day, the 6th of June (also released simply as "The Sixth of June"), the 1956 Henry Koster historical World War II (WWII) France Normandy romantic military melodrama ("Based on the Novel by Lionel Shapiro"; about the coordinated Allied invasion of France on Normandy Beach on June 6, 1944, when 160,000 Allied troops landed on a 50 mile stretch of beach, and it was the turning point in the war in Europe in World War II) starring Robert Taylor, Richard Todd, Dana Wynter, Edmond O'Brien, and John Williams
