An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Russian Movie Poster (measures 34 1/4" x 48" [87 x 122 cm]) (Learn More)

Romeo I Dzhulyetta (released in the U.S. in 1956 as "Romeo and Juliet"), the 1955 Lev Arnshtam and Leonid Lavrovsky Russian romantic musical dancing melodrama ("The Ballet Film"; based on the classic play by William Shakespeare) starring Galina Ulanova (in the title role as Juliet), Yuri Zhdanov (in the title role as Romero), I. Olenina, Aleksandr Radunsky, and Ye. Ilyushchenko
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this was an uncut sheet of eight Russian lobby cards that were linenbacked. Because the cards have no writing on them, and have a large blank area at bottom center, it seems certain that they were "export" lobby cards (meaning that they would be sent to different countries, which would then overprint the bottom center area with the title and credits in their language).

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The cards had some creases and scuffs scattered throughout, with some small tears, creases, and smudges around the edges and in the folds between the cards and running down the center of the cards. Overall, the cards were in good condition prior to linenbacking. The cards were pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
