They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Conference. The team was founded in 1967 during the NHL expansion which added six new franchises to the league. The team has won the Stanley Cup five times, and several former members have been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame including co-owner Mario Lemieux Important Added Info: Note that this paper has been personally autographed (signed) by THIRTEEN of the 1978 team members: Dave Burrows, Russ Anderson, Dave Schultz, Greg Malone, Denis Herron, Bob Paradise, Jean Pronovost, Dunc Wilson, Pete Mahovlich, Brian Spencer, Colin Campbell, and there are two signatures we cannot read. If anyone knows who else signed this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Our consignor was a young girl in 1978, and her uncle owned a popular Pittsburgh restaurant, Mayfield Chop House, where the hockey players would often eat dinner. On this night, her uncle took her to a table filled with team members and they all signed this sheet of paper to her! She does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we are certain the autographs are authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased (although we prefer they do any "authenticating" while the auction is "live" and before they place a bid) and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes.
