An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Thirty by Forty Movie Poster (30x40; measures 21 3/4" x 28 1/4" [55 x 72 cm]) (Learn More) The Graduate, the classic 1968 Mike Nichols (winner of the Best Director Academy Award for this film) coming-of-age romantic melodrama ("'Benjamin do you find me undesirable?' 'Oh, no Mrs. Robinson. I think you're the most attractive of all my parents' friends.'"; "This is Benjamin. He's a little worried about his future."; "'Mrs. Robinson, you're trying to seduce me...aren't you?'"; "Screenplay by Calder Willingham and Buck Henry"; "Songs by Paul Simon performed by Simon and Garfunkel"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; about a college graduate who becomes involved with the wife of his father's business partner and then romances her daughter) starring Anne Bancroft (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; as Mrs. Robinson), Dustin Hoffman (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; as Benjamin Braddock), Katharine Ross (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film; as Elaine Robinson), William Daniels (as Mr. Braddock), Murray Hamilton (as Mr. Robinson), Elizabeth Wilson (as Mrs. Braddock), Buck Henry (who wrote the screenplay, as the "Room Clerk"), Brian Avery (as Carl), Norman Fell (as Mr. McCleery), and a young Richard Dreyfuss (in a bit part, but he does have two lines!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a most unusual poster! A theater needed a half-sheet for this movie, but all they had was a 30x40, so they substantially trimmed it to where it measured almost exactly half-sheet size, and then used it that way! However, since all that is missing is the producer credits from the top and the small actor credits from the bottom, it really still "works" as a poster (although you have the odd extra wide right border, which is how the 30x40 was made). Please do not bid on this unusual trimmed poster unless you can accept that it was a 30x40 that was trimmed to 21 3/4" x 28 1/4". Also note that it has been established that the leg in the iconic image on this item belongs to Linda Gray (who later went on to fame in TV's "Dallas"), and not Anne Bancroft. However, as it is clearly intended to be thought of as Bancroft's leg (Gray was an unbilled body double, or more accurately, "leg double"), we are referring to it as such. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair. The poster was originally a 30x40 (see above). The portion that remains has a pinhole in each corner and some creases across the middle where it was folded, and a few other creases scattered throughout (see our image).
