An Original Vintage Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Stage Play Still (Learn More) The Ballet Russe de Monte-Carlo was founded in 1937 by Rene Blum and disbanded in 1968. The Ballet Russe de Monte-Carlo toured chiefly in the United States after World War II began. The company introduced audiences to ballet in cities and towns across the country, in many places where people had never seen classical dance. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by BOTH Frederic Franklin AND Alexandra Danilova! Note that this signed item (and a number of other signed items in this auction) come from the collection of Lily Mae Caldwell, who was a newspaper film reviewer for many years, starting in the early 1930s and continuing into the 1970s. During her career she met many celebrities, both in person and through correspondence, and over that time she acquired a number of signed items. This item was found in her estate, and while she did not have a Certificate of Authenticity, we feel certain that the autographs on this item (and the other items from her collection in this auction) are surely authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes.
