An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Three-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 41" x 81") (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's Dial M For Murder, the classic 1954 Alfred Hitchcock 3-D (3D; 3-Dimension) romantic love triangle crime murder mystery detective suspense thriller ("...is that you, darling?"; "Written by Frederick Knott who wrote the International Stage Success"; "If a woman answers... hang on for dear life!"; "Is this the man she was waiting for... or the man who was waiting for her?"; "Perfect 3 Dimension in the Hitchcock manner!") starring Ray Milland, Grace Kelly, Robert Cummings (Bob Cummings), John Williams, and Anthony Dawson. Note that, although this movie was filmed in 3-D, none of the original posters mention it at all (there is an explanation in the pressbook that because they know many theaters will not show it in 3-D, "the ads have been designed so that the 3D copy may be eliminated" [and obviously, this is why they did not put 3-D on the posters]). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This three-sheet was printed in 2 sections. Condition: very good. The smaller piece of the poster (which includes the bottom of the image, starting at the bottom of the letter "M"), is in quite nice condition! The top section of the poster had a 4" x 1 1/2" area of paper loss near the exact center of the top border, and a jagged 7" tear extending below the paper loss. There was a small thin strip of the red area at the center of the top of the poster that was missing. Someone took a piece of another poster and taped it to the back of that portion of the poster, and also put clear tape over the jagged tear (which extended past the red area into the brown background area). They then crudely hand-colored in the thin strip of missing red area, but it does not match very well. There are several pinholes in each corner of this larger section of the poster. Other than the above defects, however, the top section of the poster is in generally pretty good condition, with some separation and tiny paper loss at some crossfolds, and minor border wear. Overall, I would say that the poster is generally in pretty nice condition other than the small area of paper loss in the center of the top red border. After a simple linenbacking by a talented professional, this poster will look fantastic, and, other than the restoration of the small thin area of paper loss in the top center, the poster will have next-to-no paint restoration anywhere on it!
