An Unfolded Travel Poster (measures 28" x 42" [71 x 107 cm]) (Learn More) Pan American World Airways: Scandinavia, the 1950 airline aviation airplane travel poster ("Now direct service to Scandinavia by Clipper") encouraging people to visit Scandinavia and featuring Jean Carlu art of a Viking longboat and a Lockheed Constellation. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Jean Carlu Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! However, there are very similar 1954 and 1958 posters that re-use this artwork, which we auctioned in 2014 and 2017. Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It has some edge wear, a few creases and tiny tears along portions of some of the upper blank borders and a small patch of slight discoloration in the outer left blank border edge and lower left blank corner only. The back of the lower blank border has darkened, and there are some tears of varying lengths along portions of the lower edge (partially repaired with clear tape from the back). It has a few light and fine creases scattered at center (none are very noticeable or distracting when the poster is displayed). It displays well on its own, but after a simple linenbacking the very rare travel poster would look great! Learn More about condition grades
