La Fayette (released in the U.S. in 1963 as "Lafayette"), the 1962 Jean Dreville French/Italian historical American Revolutionary War melodrama ("The shot heard round the world thunders across the screen!"; "The firebrand who helped forge a nation... With his courage... And his sword!"; "In Super Technirama and Glorious Color"; "16 great stars! 5,000 horsemen! 50,000 extras!") starring Pascale Audret, Jack Hawkins (as General Cornwallis, the English general), Michel Le Royer (in the title role; billed as "introducing Michel Le Royer as Lafayette"), Folco Lulli, Wolfgang Preiss, Liselotte Pulver, Edmund Purdom, Georges Riviere, Rosanna Schiaffino, Howard St. John, Vittorio De Sica, Orson Welles (as Benjamin Franklin), Jacques Castelot, Jean-Roger Caussimon, Jean-Jacques Delbo, Albert Remy, Roland Rodier, Henri Tisot, and Renee Saint-Cyn. Note that an English collector tells us that this movie was only released in the Cinerama format in England.
