Original Vintage Theatrical Chapter #12 Movie Title Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) Atom Man vs. Superman, the 1950 Spencer Gordon Bennet comic book superhero serial ("Trapped by deadly fumes"; "Bomb of Death!"; "The Man of Steel strikes!"; "Blasted in the Sky!"; "Kryptonite renders Superman helpless!"; "High-tension death-trap!"; "Based on the Superman adventure feature appearing in Superman and Action Comics magazines coast to coast. Adapted from the Superman radio program."; based on the famous DC Comics comic book character) starring Kirk Alyn (in the title role as Superman/Clark Kent), Lyle Talbot (in the title role as Lex Luthor/The Atom Man), Noel Neill (who later repeated her role as Lois Lane in the TV series, after Phyllis Coates left the show), Tommy Bond (as Jimmy Olsen), Pierre Watkin (as Perry White), and Terry Frost. Note that this was the second Superman serial (the first was simply titled "Superman", and was released in 1948, with the same actors as in this serial). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is a chapter #12 lobby card for this serial. We are also selling 4 other lobby cards elsewhere on eBay this week. Also note that lobby cards from this superhero serial (as well as other superhero serials of the same era) are offered for sale far less often than are the one-sheets. This is probably because very few theaters ordered lobby cards for a serial, when they were just showing a single chapter (along with two movies, newsreels, and cartoons). If the theater was showing a chapter of the serial on a Saturday matinee, it would have been shown along with several other serial chapters, and again, it seems unlikely a theater would get lobby cards for these single chapters! Condition: good to very good. pieces of tape on the back of the card have bled through slightly to the front throughout the middle of the card; 1/8" hole in the lower right background area; diagonal crease in the upper left corner as well as minor creases, smudges, and scuffs throughout the card (more so around the edges); small tears and a few tack holes around the edges of the card Learn More about condition grades
