An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Foreign 24-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 9' x 20') (Learn More) Star Trek: The Motion Picture, the 1979 Robert Wise futuristic science fiction (sci-fi) outer space adventure thriller ("The Human Adventure Is Just Beginning."; "There Is No Comparison."; "The Motion Picture"; "Story by Alan Dean Foster"; "Screenplay by Harold Livingston") starring William Shatner (as Captain James T. Kirk), Leonard Nimoy (as Mr. Spock), DeForest Kelley (as Dr. "Bones" McCoy), James Doohan (as Commander Montgomery "Scotty" Scott), George Takei (as Lieutenant Commander Hikaru Sulu), Walter Koenig (as Chekov), Nichelle Nichols (as Lieutenant Commander Uhura), Majel Barrett, Persis Khambatta (billed as "presenting Persis Khambatta"), Stephen Collins ("as Lt. Willard Decker"; "as Decker"), and Grace Lee Whitney. Note that the Star Trek TV show went off the air in 1969, with a cult following, but without a lot of general success. But there was enough interest built up over the following years that this movie was made in 1979. Three years later, Nicholas Meyer wrote and directed a sequel, "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan", which was a giant critical and commercial success, and led to all the many sequels and spin-offs in the years since! Artist: Bob Peak Important Added Info: This 24-sheet poster was folded in a way that makes it resemble a tri-folded six-sheet (only much larger, of course, as there are more sections). But the length and width of the folded 24-sheet is just about the same as that of a folded six-sheet or three-sheet. This means that this 24-sheet needs to be sent in an oversized flat package, which will measure roughly 16" x 38", and it will cost more to send than a regular sized package. Also note that this poster was stamped "FOREIGN" which means it was printed for use outside the United States (there would also have been posters stamped "DOMESTIC" for use within the United States). Often, the "FOREIGN" posters would have a different (sometimes racier) image than that for the one used in the United States. This 24-sheet was printed in 8 sections. Condition: fine. The poster was clearly never used. The section of the poster that was on the outside when the poster was fully folded has some brown spotting on the edge of the fold that was on the very outside, but it has next-to-no effect on the front of the poster. Otherwise, the poster is in really excellent condition! Of course, we could not describe every single defect, plus there are some defects (like separation on folds, tape on the back, extremely tiny pinholes, etc) which can be VERY difficult to see, even in our largest "super-sized" image.
