An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Russian Movie Poster (measures 26 1/4" x 40" [67 x 102 cm]) (Learn More)

Ji Mao Xin (released in English-speaking countries as "The Letter with Feathers"), the 1954 Shi Hui Chinese World War II (WWII) communist adventure melodrama (about a young boy who delivers an important message to the Eighth Route Army while evading Imperial Japanese forces during the Second Sino-Japanese War) starring Yuanyuan Cai, and Shi Shu. Note that this film was extremely popular in China and it was one of a handful of films made before 1966 that was widely available during the Cultural Revolution (a purging of capitalist and traditional elements from Chinese society). It also won a Best Film Award at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in 1955. Unfortunately, director Shi Hui (who was also an actor) later ran afoul with Communist authorities and was denounced during the Anti-Rightist Movement as a reactionary, leading eventually to his suicide by drowning in 1957.
Artist: Zelenski
