An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Mexican Movie Poster (measures 26 1/2" x 35 3/4" [67 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) El Gran Pillo (literally translates to "The Big Rascal"), the 1960 Gilberto Gazcon Mexican romantic comedy (about a taxi driver who falls in love with the maid of a rich man) starring Resortes, Flor Silvestre, Marina Camacho, Oscar Ortiz de Pinedo, and Fredy Fernandez (billed as "Fredy Fernandez 'Pichi'"). It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Artist: Leopoldo Mendoza Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this Mexican movie, and that was 13 years ago! Also note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 26 1/2" x 35 3/4" [67 x 91 cm]. Note that this is one of a remarkable collection of 81 Mexican posters we are currently auctioning (in 81 separate auctions). Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster had minor fold wear. Either before or after the poster was backed, it was trimmed, and the trimming affected the bottom of the image. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
