An Original Vintage Theatrical 7" x 9 1/4" Movie Still (Learn More) Madame X, the 1937 Sam Wood courtroom legal lawyer mother son family relationship romantic murder mystery crime melodrama ("The world knew her only as Madame X"; "The Greatest Performance of the World's Most Heart-Stabbing Story!"; "Based on the play La Femme X by Alexandre Bisson"; "'I made one mistake'"; about a woman who is thrown out of her own home by her jealous husband, and he gets custody of their son, and she sinks lower and lower, and her now grown son does not know what she has become, and she kills a man who threatens to reveal who she is to her son, and her son, now a lawyer, becomes her defense attorney, never knowing he is defending his own mother) starring Gladys George, John Beal, Warren William, Reginald Owen, William Henry, and Henry Daniell. Note that this classic tearjerker is one of the most frequently remade movies ever! It was first in a feature film in 1916 (as "Madam X"), and was then remade in 1920, 1929, 1937, 1939, 1948, 1954, and 1966, and there was even a TV movie version in 1981! Important Added Info: Note that the still shows a great candid image of director Sam Wood, and the two cameramen from this movie dressed in raincoats, because they are about to film a rain sequence (star Gladys George does not get to wear a raincoat, even though she is the one who gets soaked!). Also note that there is a paper snipe glued on the back of the still that describes the scene on the front (it does not affect the front of the still). Note that there is a stamp on the back of the still (from the studio that distributed it). The still measures 7" x 9 1/4", but it does not appear to be trimmed. Condition: very good. There are a few faint emulsion scuffs scattered around the edges of the still, but they are truthfully not very noticeable at all except when the still is tilted to the light.
