A 1953 Realart Re-Release (re-titled "The Atomic Monster" for this re-release) Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card #8 (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Man-Made Monster, the 1941 George Waggner Universal science fiction (sci-fi) horror thriller ("Based on the story entitled 'The Electric Man' by H.J. Essex, Sid Schwartz and Len Golos") starring Lionel Atwill, Anne Nagel, Frank Albertson, Samuel S. Hinds, Lon Chaney Jr. (Chaney is billed last on posters, in spite of him being the star of the movie, but his credit is much larger than those who come before him), and Russell Hicks. Note that Lon Chaney Jr.'s career, despite his famous father, had been pretty much going nowhere in the 1930s. In 1939, he gave a wonderful performance as Lenny in "Of Mice and Men", which gained him much acclaim, but did not lead to better parts. This was his first starring role in a Universal horror movie, and later the same year, he was given the lead in "The Wolf Man", which became his signature role, and which he reprised several times over the 1940s! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good to very good. There is small paper loss in the upper right blank corner and there are a few pin holes in the corners of the card. There are a few pieces of tape on the back of the card in the middle of the top edge, but they were not put there for any restoration purpose. The card is otherwise in pretty nice condition.
