What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had some tiny bits of paper loss and tiny creases on parts of some folds. It had some pinholes and uneven darkening around the edges, with some paper loss in the lower left and right blank borders, and only blank white paper was affected. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did little restoration to the defects described above. Also, after the poster was backed, it acquired a tiny scratch in the upper right in the hand, but certainly any restorer could touch up that area without re-backing the poster.
