What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had some creases and scuffs along the folds, with some pinholes and tiny tears around the edges. It had some scuffs in the bottom solid gold background areas. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did little restoration to the defects described above, but they are really not very distracting (and a talented restorer could touch them up without re-backing the poster).
