Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet (27" x 41") (Learn More) Gaslight (released in the U.S. in 1952 as "Angel Street"), the 1940 Thorold Dickinson English crime murder mystery thriller ("A husband tries to drive his wife insane!"; "Love and Fear filled the house on Angel Street"; "Patrick Hamilton's Stage Hit") starring Anton Walbrook, Diana Wynyard, Robert Newton, Frank Pettingell, and Cathleen Cordell. Note that this English movie was made in 1940, but in 1944, Hollywood remade it with Charles Boyer and Ingrid Bergman in the lead roles. Apparently, they were able to keep this English version from being released in the U.S., but it was finally released 12 years after it was originally made, and when it was, it was re-titled, and Walbrook was billed as being "of 'Red Shoes' fame".
