An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style C One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Blossoms in the Dust, the 1941 Mervyn LeRoy Texas romantic biography rights-of-those-born-out-of-wedlock melodrama ("Technicolor's greatest love story"; "The Story of a woman who defied convention."; "Technicolor's greatest triumph!"; "Technicolor's towering triumph!"; "She rang every doorbell in Texas!"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; a biography of a real woman, Edna Gladney, who in the early 1920s led a crusade to improve the treatment of "illegitimate" children born to unwed mothers, and to give them equal rights under the law, and to remove the stigma associated with their birth) starring Greer Garson (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; as Edna Kahly Gladney), Walter Pidgeon, Felix Bressart, Marsha Hunt, Fay Holden, and Samuel S. Hinds NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds. There were many small tears in the 2" above the top crossfold, but solely in Garson's collar, and not in her face or hair. There were some creases, smudges, and a few tiny tears in the foldlines. There was an L-shaped tear in the "ST" of "DUST" in the title. There were pinholes, creases, tears, and tiny areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the paint restoration in the white background areas.
