It is a bitter made from the infusion of herbs and fruit in alcohol and water and is characterized by its dark red color. Until 2006, the red color was achieved with carmine dye, derived from crushed cochineal insects Artist: Leonetto Cappiello Important Added Info: Note that this Italian poster measures 37" x 55 1/2" and is linenbacked. This poster has been professionally linenbacked. It now looks great, and most dealers would describe it as "fine (or mint) on linen". We have noted the defects that were restored below (and feel everyone should always do this!). Many collectors would not be aware of the restoration this poster has had unless it was specifically shown to them! Condition: fine. This poster was in fine condition prior to linenbacking. There was some typical fold and border wear and tiny paper loss at some crossfolds, but overall the poster was in nice condition!
