Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at the crossfolds and it had tears and tiny paper loss in the vertical fold between the top and middle crossfolds, with minor wear on the other folds. It had an upside-down V-shaped tear starting in the left of the second "E" of "BETTE" and extending into the "S" of "DAVIS" and the background to the right of it. The top 1 1/2" of the poster was folded back at one time and there were creases and tears in that area and there were tears and paper loss around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was expertly backed by a very talented restorer and displays fantastically, even from close up!
