Der sieg des Glaubens (literally translates to "The Victory of Faith"), the 1933 Leni Riefenstahl German Nazi documentary. Note that this was created two years before Riefenstahl's "Triumph of the Will", to which this is very similar. What happened is that Riefenstahl directed this in 1933, and it included footage of Ernst Rohm, head of the Brownshirts, who was very close to Hitler. But in 1934, Hitler thought Rohm was trying to have him assassinated, and he had him arrested and killed, and he ordered that all references to Rohm be removed from all public records, and all copies of this movie were destroyed! The following year, Riefenstahl created "Triumph of the Will" to replace this movie! The movie apparently did survive (because Riefenstahl took a print of it to Great Britain where she lectured about it, and that is the print that survived, but apparently minus the opening credits), but it has never been released by the German government. There are a couple of reviews of the movie on IMDb by people who claim to have seen it (perhaps they saw it in 1933?), but we can't verify that they are truthful. It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
