A Complete Set of 66 Original Vintage Fleer Collectible Trading Cards (each measures 2 1/2" x 3 1/2"; also includes 11 original wrappers). (Learn More) The Three Stooges are one the most loved comedy teams of all-time! They were famous for their violent slapstick comedy and their silly jokes! The Three Stooges went through several line-up changes which included Moe Howard, Curly (Jerry Howard), Larry Fine, Shemp Howard, Joe DeRita (more commonly known as Curly-Joe), and Joe Besser! Of course, any Stooge fan knows that they started in vaudeville with Moe Howard and Shemp Howard (brothers) and Larry Fine. When they switched to movies, Shemp dropped out of the act and their brother Jerry (Curly) took his place. Decades later, when Curly became sick, Shemp took his place, and later, Joe DeRita and Joe Besser took Shemp's place. It is also quite humorous that the Stooges were originally part of Ted Healy's act (billed as "Ted Healy and His Stooges"). When they started having success, they asked for a raise, and Healy fired them and replaced them with new "stooges", thinking that HE was the star, but things didn't work out the way he expected! Important Added Info: Note that offered here is the complete 1966 set of Fleer bubble gum trading cards! Each card has a black & white image of the Stooges on the front with captions beneath. The backs of each card are 1/66th of a very large image, and you could assemble the backs of all the cards like a jigsaw puzzle to see a single large image! Note that we pictured the front and back of all 66 cards, and we also pictured the 11 original wrappers they came in. We have seen these cards sell both individually and as a set for huge amounts of money, but the set here will be sold to the highest bidder, no matter what the price, because this is a no reserve auction! Also note: We have 17 images of the items in this set, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 17 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 7. Condition: very good. The cards are mostly in excellent condition. It appears they were purchased and then carefully put away for many years, and they have a "crisp" feel, with sharp edges. HOWEVER, we believe that the owner left them in the original packages with the gum, and then, at some point, the owner of the cards removed them from the packages, but by that point, the gum had aged and had an effect on the back of the card it was up against. There are images of the backs of all the cards, and it appears that around 15 of them have this defect to some degree, and that all or almost all of the other 51 are in really nice condition (but we invite you to study all the images to get an exact sense of the condition of every card. Note that we photographed nine cards at a time and then turned them over, and photographed the backs of those same nine, so there are two images for every card. Learn More about condition grades
