Artist: Bob McCall
Important Added Info: Note that MGM gave 2001 one of the most elaborate poster campaigns ever, with many, many different special posters. But some of the MOST special items they created for the initial Cinerama release were special lenticular posters that measured 23 1/4" x 33" and also smaller versions that measured 10 1/2" x 13 1/2" (and also lenticular postcards)! Most of these came in two versions, one with the "space wheel", and the other with the "astronauts" (we don't know for sure on the 23 1/4" x 33" size, because we have only ever auctioned one, so we don't know if it came in both versions). This auction is for the 10 1/2" x 13 1/2" space wheel style. We have twice before auctioned another version of this that was created with a frame around it and a hanging hook on the back, and it can be converted to a standee by folding out an easel standee backing. This one does NOT have the frame or the easel backing, and we have previously auctioned three of these, but two of those were the same poster, so we have previously auctioned two different ones, and this is the third example we have auctioned of the unframed style. This lenticular standee has a really wonderful lenticular effect that is of course very hard to photograph! Believe me that when you see it in person you will be impressed, but of course, only the high bidder will see it in person!

Condition: good to very good. There is faint vertical scuffing in most of the top half of the poster, and it is greater in the left of the top half than in the right. There was surely something about the way these were created that made them prone to scuffing, because most examples of these in the 11x14 or larger size has similar scuffing to various degrees. It is barely noticeable at all when it is looked at straight on, but becomes very noticeable when you tilt it to the light. We don't know if it can be removed from the surface, but that should only be attempted by a professional. As we said, if this is displayed, the slight scuffing will not be distracting from any reasonable viewing distance.
