An Original 1948 (from the first release of this movie in Italy) Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian Two-Panel (known in Italy as a "4 Fogli") Movie Poster (2p; measures 55" x 78" [140 x 198 cm]) (Learn More) That's the Spirit, the 1945 Charles Lamont musical fantasy supernatural ghost comedy ("and how you'll howl as he haunts!"; "Original screenplay written and produced by Michael Fessier and Ernest Pagano"; about a vaudeville performer who returns from the dead to help his wife and daughter) starring Peggy Ryan, Jack Oakie, June Vincent, Arthur Treacher, Gene Lockhart, Johnny Coy, Andy Devine, Buster Keaton, and Mantan Moreland. Note that by the time this movie was made, Buster Keaton's star had fallen so severely that the producers of this movie did not choose to include him on the advertising, even though they found room for six other stars! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Ercole Brini Important Added Info: Note that we have only auctioned two examples of this poster before! Note that this is an extremely rare Italian poster printed relatively soon after World War II! Virtually no Italian posters survive from during or right after World War II. Apparently there were many paper shortages in Europe during World War II, resulting in the destruction of almost all posters from before World War II, and also from during the war, and the first few years afterwards.
