An Original 1940 (from the first release date in Mexico) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Mexican Movie Poster (measures 26 3/4" x 36 3/4" [68 x 93 cm]) (Learn More) Jamaica Inn, the 1939 Alfred Hitchcock English crime adventure thriller ("From the novel by Daphne du Maurier"; about a young Englishwoman who goes to live with her aunt and discovers a gang of thieves living next door) starring Charles Laughton, Maureen O'Hara (in her third movie role!), Leslie Banks, Horace Hodges, Hay Petrie, Frederick Piper, Robert Newton, and Emlyn Williams NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster was never folded. It had paper loss in the top and bottom of the right blank border and some scattered small areas of paper loss in the right of the poster, but fortunately, almost all in the background areas (see our image). There were a few tiny bits of paper loss in the other parts of the poster. The entire poster had darkened. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
