An Original Vintage Linenbacked Special Advertising Poster (measures 22" x 28") (Learn More) Hoppy Would Have Loved It!, the 1970s poster advertising a men's cologne, Colorado Sage ("Bold, Honest, Heroic, A Genuine Fragrance of the American West."). Apparently, the makers of this cologne licensed the use of William Boyd's (Hopalong Cassidy) image for this ad campaign (but somehow it just doesn't seem right to think of Hoppy wearing cologne!). This was apparently one of the series of similar posters from this advertising campaign, although we have only seen this poster and one with Tom Mix. If anyone knows more about these advertising posters, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fine. This poster was linenbacked and during the backing process, its extremely minor defects were repaired and it now looks really great! We only assigned this grade ("fine or better") to posters that were in really excellent condition prior to linenbacking, AND which were linenbacked by a top professional! The poster was never folded and had very minor border defects. Overall, the poster was in fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, and looks great!
