Some of his movies include: Rebel Without A Cause (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Exodus (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Giant, and Tonka. Sadly, Mineo passed away under tragic circumstances in 1976. He went home after rehearsing for a play, and was stabbed to death in his home by a stranger! Mineo was 37. He is also one of four actors, along with Natalie Wood, Nick Adams, and James Dean from Rebel Without a Cause to die tragically. Important Added Info: Note that this is a "studio-issued" transparency that was produced by the studio but is not the camera original. What is a transparency? They are produced by the studio and are very high quality and were created in quantity and sent to media outlets or other places that had need of the very highest quality image for reproduction purposes (in newspapers, magazines, or elsewhere). A clear border around a 4x5 transparency denotes duplication from a negative source, a black border denotes duplication from a positive source. This transparency is in a plastic sleeve (but we removed it and scanned it, so that bidders could see just how high quality it is). It will be sent to the winner of the auction in the plastic sleeve.
