An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81") (Learn More) The Blue Angel, the 1959 Edward Dmytryk doomed romantic old-professor-young-cabaret-singer melodrama ("Could a man have a better reason for throwing his life away?"; "It pleased her to know her husband was watching ...and hurting inside!"; "But she always came back ...to remind him he wasn't man enough to break away!"; a re-make of the far superior 1929 German masterpiece with Marlene Dietrich and Emil Jannings) starring Curd Jurgens (billed as "Curt Jurgens"; as Professor Immanuel Rath), May Britt (as Lola-Lola), Theodore Bikel, John Banner, Fabrizio Mioni, and Ludwig Stossel NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. The poster had creases and slight darkening on parts of some foldlines with a few tiny tears on parts of some foldlines and tiny paper loss in the crossfold in the background to the right of Britt's shoulder. There was slight bleed through from writing on the back in the white background area to the right of Britt's shoulder. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer linenbacked the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above, but they are really not at all distracting (and any restorer could easily touch them up without re-backing the poster).
