An Autographed Contract (measures 6 1/4" x 9"; 2 pages) (Learn More) Chuck Roberson was an actor and stuntman from the 1940s to the 1980s. His resemblance to John Wayne led to almost 30 years as Wayne's stunt double. He often played small roles and performed stunts in the same film, which sometimes resulted in his shooting himself when the picture was edited. He had larger supporting roles in westerns for Wayne and John Ford (who nicknamed him "Bad Chuck") and also worked as a second-unit director. Some of his movies include: Wake of the Red Witch, The Searchers, and The Alamo. He passed away in 1988 at the age of 69. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Chuck Roberson! There is a blue stub stapled to the top of the contract so we have photographed it with the blue stub as it is, and with the blue stub lifted up so you can see what is under it. Note that some contracts have Social Security numbers on them, and when they do, we obscure them in our digital image. Note that this item was consigned to us by a man who has been a major movie memorabilia collector and dealer from the 1970s on. During that time, he would regularly purchase collections of movie memorabilia from both dealers and collectors, and in some of those collections he purchased autographed items. Both we and our consignor feel it is quite likely that the autograph on this item is authentic, but he does not have a certificate of authenticity (unless noted above). Condition: very good.
