3 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Key Book Stills (Learn More)

Arizona Bound, the 1927 John Waters silent cowboy western ("Story by Richard Allen Gates"; young Gary Cooper plays a cowboy who cares about his horse and a pretty girl, in that order, but she doesn't think much of him, because he has no ambition, but after he stops gold robbers and saves her from being kidnapped, he wins both a reward and her love) starring Gary Cooper, Betty Jewel, El Brendel, Jack Dougherty, Christian J. Frank, and Charles Crockett. Note that Cooper had had a succession of bit parts before having a small but good supporting role in "The Winning of Barbara Worth" (starring Ronald Colman and Vilma Banky) the year before this movie, and someone at Paramount saw that movie and wisely saw the great potential in him, and signed him to star in this movie, and he was super well received! That same year, he also had a tiny role in "It", and an important small role in "Wings", and he quickly became a major star, but this was his very first starring role. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

Important Added Info: Note that this set of stills has a great provenance! Johnny Crawford, who first came to fame as the son in the TV series "The Rifleman" and later became a band leader loved movies, and early on he collected many movie stills and more. This set of 8x10 stills was consigned to us from his collection! Note also that the stills are glued to a linen-like backing (we think it is highly likely that these are key book stills, and that someone trimmed away the extra 1" from the top of the still, no doubt so it could be put in a frame).

Condition: very good. As noted above, approximately 1" of the top edge of each key book still was neatly trimmed off. Each has a few light scuffs and tiny indentations that are mostly only noticeable when the still is tilted to the light and some creases around the edges. They have slightly changed to a sepia color (somewhat unevenly in the still pictured at upper left) but are otherwise generally in nice condition.
