This very rare poster is promoting a meeting by the American Marketing Association which took place at the Plaza International Hotel in San Diego, California on September 22nd of 1977. The theme of the meeting was "Merchandising The Film - Star Wars" and the speaker was Marc Pevers, Director of Business Affairs at 20th Century Fox. The poster was gifted to attendees and features artwork by Robert (Bob) Watts and the original "pointy W" Star Wars logo. Watts has created artwork for Ryan Aeronautical, NASA, American Airlines, General Dynamics and the U.S. Navy. He is one of the premier architectural illustrators in San Diego and a signature member of the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association. This is one of the few Star Wars posters that even most of the most advanced collectors don't have, but it is very high on their "wish list"! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had many creases, smudges, scuffs, and some stains scattered throughout. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, and it now presents well from a reasonable viewing distance. When you look closely at the poster, you can see most of the above defects clearly, because the restorer did not want to "paint over" the poster, but this incredibly rare poster will display well on its new owner's wall. However, bear in mind its defects before bidding. Learn More about condition grades
