We owe them houses of cheer"; "YWCA") encouraging people to support the war effort by helping the women of France, who had been doing the work that men had done while they were off at war or being killed. The poster features Lucien Jonas art of several women working in a smelter as others enter a YWCA building in the background. Artist: Lucien Jonas Condition: good. There are small tears along portions of the edges with several areas of small paper loss in the borders, only very slightly affecting the letters, and not affecting the image. There are light ripples scattered throughout and a few stains. After a relatively simple linenbacking the poster will look great, and it will require almost no paint restoration!
