An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

Agnes Ayres was an actress from the 1910s to the 1930s. She was a major silent star and is probably best remembered for being billed above Rudolph Valentino in 1920's "The Sheik"! She had great success and retired in 1927, but sadly, she lost her fortune in the 1929 Stock Market Crash, and had unfortunate marriages as well. She tried to resume her career in talking movies with very limited success. She retired again in 1937 and started a real estate business, but sadly, she passed away in 1940 at the age of 42, from a cerebral hemorrhage.
Important Added Info: Note that there is a signature on this photo, but it was signed by a secretary to Miss Ayres, and not Miss Ayres herself. Do not bid on it thinking it is signed by Agnes Ayres, because it definitely was not! However, the still WAS hand signed by the photographer, Victoria, who wrote "Victoria L.A." in the lower left. Also note that this still measures 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm]. Finally, note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock.

Condition: good to very good. There is a brown stain in the bottom of the still, and some faint creases and scuffs scattered throughout.
