An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Swedish Movie Poster (measures approximately 27" x 39") (Learn More) Camp Volant (released in the U.S. as "Marco the Clown"), the 1932 Max Reichmann French/German circus trapeze melodrama starring Ivan Koval-Samborsky, Meg Lemonnier, Berthe Ostyn, and Roberto Rey If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This Swedish poster measures approximately 27" x 39". Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked and during the backing process, its defects were repaired and it now looks nice. From any reasonable viewing distance, you can't see what restoration was done. It may have had only very minor defects, or it may have had more significant defects that were well restored. It is possible that you can see SOME slight traces of the restoration from a distance, but if so, we try clearly note it below. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster was tri-folded only. It had many border defects, including tears, stains, and areas of paper loss. Some of the stains go into the edges of the image, and the paper loss in the bottom right corner goes into the "M" of the word "FILM". There was small paper loss at the middle of the bottom foldline and faint staining to the left of that paper loss (likely caused by tape on the back that slightly bled through). The person who linenbacked the poster did so in the "European fashion", meaning they pretty much just backed it as is, but they did patch the small areas of paper loss, and did draw in the missing portion in the bottom right corner. Any talented restorer could surely perform additional restoration to this poster without re-backing it. Learn More about condition grades
