River Phoenix was a child actor from the 1980s to the 1990s. He had success as an adult actor, but his drug problems led to his very publicized public death outside of Johnny Depp's nightclub "The Viper Room" in 1993 at the age of 23. He seemed to have unlimited potential! Some of his movies include: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Stand By Me, Running On Empty (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), and My Own Private Idaho
