An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Still (Learn More) Bear Shooters, the 1930 Robert F. McGowan & Hal Roach Our Gang comedy short starring Allen 'Farina' Hoskins, Norman 'Chubby' Chaney, Bobby 'Wheezer' Hutchins, Jackie Cooper, Mary Ann Jackson (7 year-old child actress, one of the first child stars of the 1920s; she later appeared in "Our Gang" comedies; she made a total of 70 movies between 1925 and 1931, after which she retired at the age of 8!; she had a much older sister, Peaches Jackson, who made movies around the same time, and oddly, often played boys!), Leon Janney, and Charles Gemora (as the gorilla!). Note that starting in 1929 and continuing into the 1940s, Charles Gemora played gorillas in many movies, likely because he owned a gorilla suit, and could do a somewhat convincing job portraying a gorilla. Just a few years later, Ray 'Crash' Corrigan would also start playing gorillas, and no doubt they competed for roles in every movie requiring a gorilla!
