An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) A Place in the Sun, the classic 1951 George Stevens (winner of the Best Director Academy Award for this film) romantic love triangle murder melodrama ("Screenplay by Michael Wilson and Harry Brown"; "Based on the novel, An American Tragedy, by Theodore Dreiser & the Patrick Kearney play adapted from the novel"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; about a poor man who dreams of having a relationship with a rich girl, and then it happens, but his ex-girlfriend turns up pregnant, and he considers killing her, but has a change of heart, but she dies anyway) starring Montgomery Clift (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Elizabeth Taylor, Shelley Winters (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Keefe Brasselle, Raymond Burr, and Shepperd Strudwick. Some film buffs collectively refer to Shane, Giant, and A Place in the Sun as "George Stevens' American Trilogy". NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still has a stamp on the back in the form of a diamond that has "TRR" running down the center. One certainly might wonder who placed this stamp there and why. The answer is that the still (and many others we are auctioning in this set of auctions) come to us from a still collector who has collected for many decades, and long ago he began stamping the back of his stills with this stamp, and "TRR" is his initials! Each of the stills is stamped lightly, and the stamp does NOT affect the front of the still. He is a VERY advanced collector, and he has consigned many wonderful stills to us! Condition: very good.
