An Original Vintage Magazine (measures 8 1/2" x 11 3/4" [22 x 30 cm]) (Learn More) Broadway and Hollywood Movies, one of the many movie magazines sold to the public. This magazine tried to separate itself from the "regular" movie fan magazines by adding in coverage of Broadway shows and events (the magazine also had some "racier" content, including sexier images of stars and even a page or two of racy cartoons!). Each issue features a great full color cover of a leading star of the day, plus lots of interior publicity stories about current stars and movies with many black and white images throughout. Also, in every issue are many wonderful vintage ads, in black and white, and sometimes the ads can be just as much fun as the original stories and pictures. Of course, some of the ads are from movies that were about to open, and in the early days of eBay, people would remove those full-page ads and auction them by themselves, and they would often sell for $10, $20, or more, just for a single movie ad removed from a magazine just like this! At some point in the early 1930s, the magazine changed its title to simply "Movies", and became a more conventional movie magazine (to further complicate things, a new magazine called "Modern Movies" started in 1939, and it changed its name to simply "Movies" in 1940, but the two magazines appear to have been unrelated). Note that this magazine is extremely similar to "Romances of Hollywood Movies". Clearly they were either published by the same people, or one of the magazines changed into the other. Please know that these magazines are sealed in bags and are ready for shipping, and we cannot answer any questions about them or look through them for you, so please bid (or do not bid) based on the images we have provided. Condition: fair to good. The back cover is missing and there is paper loss in the left corners of the cover. Note that we have attempted to check to see if the magazine is complete and uncut, and we believe that it is. However, there is a slight possibility that we might have missed a small cut or a page that was neatly removed, and if that happens, you can return the magazine. We have solely provided an overall description of the condition of the magazine, but you can also refer to our super-sized images.
