The theaters would either write in the name of the particular movie they were showing that day, or paste on a paper snipe with the title, and then they could later re-use the poster when they showed a different Buck Jones movie. Sometimes examples of the posters were overprinted with specific titles. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this particular stock poster was used to show a re-release of the 1935 movie, "Stone of Silver Creek", and it was overprinted with that title. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair. The poster had paper loss at the top two crossfolds, with tears and paper loss on parts of several folds. It had pinholes, tears, and paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Also, after the poster was backed, it acquired areas of surface paper loss scattered in the lower right of the image and a few others in other parts of the image. Learn More about condition grades
