Prelude to War, the 1942 Frank Capra & Anatole Litvak World War II (WWII) propaganda documentary ("Dear Mom, Saw a great movie today 'Prelude to War' Uncle Sam made it exclusively for us. Wish you could see it"; "You can see it now"; "The film that made our troops fighting mad!"; "The United States Government presents 'Prelude to War'"; "This picture won special Academy Award"; "Your boy wants you to see this movie!"; "He saw it... he cheered it... Now, the War Department has released it for the home front... because you, too, are fighting in this war!"; "Produced by the Special Service Division, Army Service Forces, War Department in cooperation with the United Stated Army Signal Corps...... Released through The Office of War Information, Bureau of Motion Pictures. Distributed and exhibited under the auspices of the War Activities Committee.... Motion Picture Industry"; "Your throat will tighten! Your hands will clinch! Your heart will pound! You'll want to cheer! You'll want to grab a gun yourself!") narrated by Walter Huston. This film was part of a series of documentaries commissioned by the United States government during World War II whose purpose was to show American soldiers the reason for U.S. involvement in the war. Later on they were also shown to the general U.S. public to persuade them to support American involvement in the war.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.

Condition: very good. There is approximately 2 1/2" of separation in the bottom crossfold and there is minor separation at the other crossfolds and a few tiny tears along the foldlines and edges of the poster. The poster is otherwise in pretty nice condition, but if one chose to have it restored it would display well!
